GP-Billing has a wizard simplifying the process of issuing refunds to customers.
From the [Billing] dashboard, click the [View Account] button.
Use the following buttons to find or add the customer account:
[Sync Patient] Synchronise with the currently selected patient in the clinical system
[Search Account] Search for an account that
already exists in GP-Billing
To start the refund wizard, click the [Refund/Credit]
hyperlink.
Transactions are split across two tabs, paid and unpaid items.
Paid Items
To start the refund process, click the [Refund] button.
When refunding items that have been paid, a debit note is
created to reverse the payment and an optional credit note to reverse the bill.
The wizard automatically completes the information where possible.
If the amount was taken on a credit card using the virtual terminal, it can be automatically refunded to the credit card that was used.
The amount and refund method can be modified before processing the refund.
If the bill is still valid, untick the [Credit the Bill Amount], this means that a credit note will not be raised.
Add a note so that other users can see why the refund was issued.
Click [Refund] to issue the refund or [Cancel] to exit.
Unpaid Items
To start the refund process, click the [Credit] button.
When refunding items that are unpaid, a credit note is
created to reverse the bill.
The wizard automatically completes the information where possible.
The amount can be modified before processing the credit.
Add a note so that other users can see why the refund was issued.
Click [Credit] to issue the refund or [Cancel] to exit.
