GP Billing allows payments to be taken using a SumUp Solo card reader.
First, identify a suitable network for the card reader and connect to it using the steps shown on the device. Please note that your practices main network may not be suitable. Then, create a Merchant account using sumup.biz, and verify your identity.
Before setting up GP Billing with the Sum Up solo card reader, please ensure you have:
- A Sum Up Merchant account (this can be created from sumup.biz )
- Connected the card reader to a suitable network, please note the practice network may not be compatible with the device.
- Identified the terminal you would like to connect the reader with.
Additionally, to complete transactions using the card reader you must verify your identity with Sum Up.
Once you have created your Sum Up account with them, you will need your Merchant Code, it is located at the top right of the screen below your business name. The screenshot below has been annotated to show its location.
Do not use the Public Key already there; instead, create a new API Key by typing a name into the text box at the bottom of the screen, then clicking create.
A message box will then appear with the API Key, copy the code from the text box or download the text file.
In GP Billing go to the Administration tab and open the Practice Settings. Select SumUp Solo and enter the Merchant Code and API Key into the relevant boxes.
Then click Pair Reader.
Next switch on the card reader and click the arrow at the top of the screen.
Click Connections.
Then click API, then connect.
Below is a screenshot of the API code.
Enter the Pairing Code into GP Billing, then click Pair.
Once this has been done the Reader ID will be automatically filled.
